About Ali
Ali Evarts is an actor and writer based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Ali attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on a full merit scholarship, double majoring in Dramatic Art and International Politics. In the wake of a nationally publicized scandal in which some advisors alleged that UNC athletes were ill-prepared for classes and receiving grades they did not deserve, Ali co-wrote a documentary play about the UNC athlete experience, compiled from transcribed interviews. She also created a database of transgender rights around the world as part of the Representation and Rights Initiative. Inspired by theatre and dance of the African diaspora, Ali spent a semester in Cape Town, studying physical theatre and working with South Africa's up-and-coming storytellers & poets (such as Koleka Putuma and Lwanda Sindaphi) at the Magnet Theatre and the Baxter Theatre Centre. Ali now works as an actor both on stage and in front of the camera. She is particularly drawn to stories inspired by real people and true events. Of course, she also has a soft spot in her heart for Shakespeare’s timeless works, finding contemporary relevance in the centuries-old text. When she isn't acting in film or theatre, Ali works as the General Manager of Scott A. Miller Enterprise, overseeing the growth and development of Miller Communication Consulting and the mVm Miller Voice Method®. She also assists the World Wildlife Fund’s Editorial team, writing and editing the World Wildlife quarterly magazine. |
